Monster is THREE!!!

I can't believe that my little MonsterBoy is 3 years old now.
This is the first time that I've been with one of my children non-stop since they were born.
It was a small family affair, and we went to the zoo.  Monster seems to like the zoo, so we'll probably start going more often.  Here are some wonderful pics from our adventures!
Monster can now say "Peacock" or something that sounds like that.
He seems to like them a lot!

This turtle kept trucking right along the whole time we were there.  Monster got a kick out of him moving like he did.
And, this is about the best pic we could get of Monster.  He was playing camera shy every time I tried to take a picture!!

As you can see, we had a great time and it was a great birthday!

And this is Monster's birthday present!!
Monster named him Buddy and he is incredibly smart!  There's gonna be a lot of posts about our adventures!!

~~Happy Mother's Day~~

I want to say:
to all my friends and mom's out there.

I also want to take this time to remember those mom's that have lost a child.
There's one I know of specifically, besides myself.

Tonight, I was rocking Monster before bed and thought to myself...I never had these times with Em.  I never got to rock her to sleep.
Or Celebrate a 3rd Mother's Day with her.
Or go to the zoo with her.

There are a lot of things that the Carter's stole from me, and I resent that

It's not fair that they get to see her every day.
It's not fair that I don't know what her favorite color is.
or even what she looks like.
But I do hold on to the little bit of time that I had with her.
And when I hold Monster...
A tiny part of me is holding Em in my memory.

So...this is a happy day!!! But also a sad day, and I want you guys out there to know that I'm thinking of you.
For my friend, Natalie Norton who lost her son.  I'm remembering you today, and I know you are cherishing the day with your other sons.

Sorry We've been MIA

Hello everyone and sorry for the big gap in posts.  We've been living life here.  Monster turned 3 last week and we celebrated by going to the zoo.

It's hard to believe that my baby is getting so big.  He's more independent and also "I got it" is one of his main phrases.  Not only that, but with daddy being home a lot, he is really spoiled.

I do have to give a shout out for the day care that Monster goes to.  Yesterday there was an incident where another kid clawed at Monster during nap time.  Daycare didn't call me because they knew that I wouldn't totally freak out, and they were more interested in getting the other child sent home.  When I asked about it, they said they were having a conference with the other child's parents because they said they were having this problem at home also.  So, I asked for an ouch report for my records and of course I took a pic.
Yeah, it's pretty bad but he's taking it like a trooper.  I also love that on the ouch report, they added TLC.  Of course Monster milked it for all it was worth and got TLC from everyone that works there.  Here's the report:

I've had nothing but praise since Monster started there in 2009.  At first it was when we needed it, then once a week, then twice a week, then 4 days a week and now he goes full time.  He's starting to play with other kids, but there are days when he stays by himself...on those days he doesn't get to play with his iPad.

Also, daddy finally got some disability approved from the VA.  We still have to appeal it because they said nothing about the hydrocephalus.  This is one journey that I wouldn't wish on anyone, but I wouldn't change my life.  I'm thankful for every day that I get to spend with my husband and for every day that Monster has with his daddy.  So, I'm going to try to post more often and I hope that I get more readers by doing this.
